Adult/Teen 13+ Learn to Skate
The Adult/Teen Learn to Skate program teaches the fundamentals of skating required for recreational skating, hockey, ringette and figure skating. Lesson are given in group format and skaters progress at their own pace.
This session is open to skaters age 13+ and older who are in the "learn to skate" stage. Skaters will be grouped according to age and ability.
Private lessons are available on the Adult/Teen Learn to Skate session. No skating ability required. Teen skaters who complete the program may advance to the STARSkate STAR 1 (Intro to Junior) program. Adult skaters who complete the program may advance to the Adult STARSkate program with coaches' recommendation.
CSA approved hockey helmets are mandatory for Teens and highly recommended for 18+ Adult beginners.
Session includes 15 min. warm up, a 30 min. of group lesson & 30 min. of practice time/private lesson.
Eligibility for Spring 2018 Session:
Age 13+ as of May 15, 2018 for the Teen Program
Age 18+ as of March 19, 2018 for the Adult Program
What to wear skating ?
Skaters should wear warm comfortable clothing. Preferably dress in layers. Track pants or yoga pants, warm jacket or fleece jacket.
Must wear gloves.
