This program introduces the fundamentals of skating to very young children (age 3+). It is a half-hour group lesson with a professional coach (maximum of 5 skaters per group). The coach will be on the ice during the entire session. Skaters will be grouped according to ability and age. Toys, other props and visual aids will be used during the lessons. Circuits and trails will be drawn on the ice for skaters to learn and practice their skills.
Assessment will be an ongoing basis rather than having a set assessment day, allowing skaters to progress at their own speed. For those who master the Pre-School program will advance to the Pre-CanSkate program.
** CSA approved hockey helmets with face masks (cages) are mandatory **
Parents are not allowed on the ice.
Mandatory for parents of children 10 and under to stay at the arena.
