STAR 1
The STAR 1 session is a bridge from the CanSkate to STARSkate. Helmets are not required. The STAR 1 session prepares skaters for their first Skate Canada standardized test - STAR 1 Skills, Freeskate Elements or Dance Elements.
Fall/Winter 2020-21: There will be no formal group lessons offered for the STAR 1 skaters but will be given instructions, directions and supervision if skaters do not have a prviate coach or has finished their private session with their coach. STAR 1 skaters will be sharing ice with the higher level skaters.
COVID Consideration: Parents/Guardians are not allowed to stay at the arena and watch. It is recommended that parents/guardians of skaters (especially those of younger skaters) remain close by during their child’s entire session and can come to the arena quickly.
Eligibility
Skaters must have passed CanSkate Stage 6.
Skating Attire
Girls
Skating dresses/skirts or close fitting athletic pants/leggings. All long hair should be tied back.
Boys
Skating pants with stretchy material. No jeans or other restrictive clothing (street wear) allowed on the ice.
