Registration & Club Policies
Membership Fees
- All skaters must pay an annual Skate Canada Membership Fee, unless the skater is registered with another club. This fee is set by Skate Canada and is $62 per skater for the 2025-26 season.
- In addition, an Upper Canada Club Membership Fee is charged per family:
- $50.00 for Fall/Winter 2025-26
- $25.00 for new members joining in Spring 2026
- $25.00 for new members joining in Summer 2026 if summer session is being offered.
- Both fees are non-refundable and valid from September 1 to August 31 of the following year.
Registration
- Registration is completed online only.
- Sessions may fill quickly. Waitlists are available, but the Club reserves the right to close registration at any time.
- Registration is not considered complete until the online registration is completed and submitted, and full payment is received, including both membership fees.
Payment Policy
- E-transfer ONLY. No credit card, cheque or cash payments are accepted.
- Send E-transfer to paymentucsc@gmail.com. (no password required).
- Payment is due within 7 days of registration or by the specified deadline posted on the website.
- Registration may be cancelled if payment is not received on time.
Terms & Conditions
- Skaters with outstanding balances will not be permitted to register.
- Fees and penalties:
- $45 fee for NSF cheques (if cheque payment is pre-approved)
- $50 processing fee for all refunds.
- $25 admin fee per skater for switching skating days (not applicable after program completion. For example: moving from Pre-CanSkate to CanSkate; or from CanSkate to STAR 1)
- $10/day late fee will for overdue payments (including guest skating fees).
- Registration may be cancelled if:
- Full payment is not received by the due date
- The skater does not attend the first two weeks and has not contacted the Club
- No substitutions of days and no make-ups or refunds for missed sessions due to illness, vacations, holidays, competitions, tests, bad weather, maintenance, equipment failure, breakdowns, repairs or other disruptions.
- No refunds for guest skating, tests or Club events once paid.
- In the event of government-ordered shutdowns or facilities closure, partial or full refund may be issued, based on refunds received from the City of Toronto for ice rental.
Refund Policy
- Skate Canada Fee and Club Membership Fees are non-refundable.
- Program fees may be refunded at the discretion of the Board of Directors under the following conditions:
- Before program starts: Full refund minus a processing fee.
- Within the first two weeks: Prorated refund minus a processing fee.
- After two weeks: No refund, unless for exceptional circumstances (e.g. medical),with documentation
- Vacation-related refund request (absences over 4 weeks) must be submitted in writing with proof of travel (e.g. Plane ticket).
- All refund requests must be made in writing and include:
- Member and skater's name
- Contact information
- Reason(s) for refund
- Supporting documentation (e.g. medical note, travel proof)

Other Fees
- Guest Skating: Must be paid in full before stepping on the ice.
- Private Coaching: Paid directly to the coach. The Club is not responsible for the collecting these fees or resolving related disputes.
- Assessment and Hospitality: Assessment fees must be paid in full before attempting any Skate Canada assessment. An additional $18 hospitality fee applies to all assessment days.
Safety
- Helmets: All skaters who have not passed CanSkate Stage 5 must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet. Coaches will enforce this helmet policy; skaters without a proper helmet will not be permitted on the ice and no refund will be issued for the missed session.
- Parental Supervision: For safety, children aged 10 and under must be supervised. A parent or guardian must remain on-site during the entire session for all skaters in both CanSkate and STARSkate programs.
Ice Use and Schedule
- Ice usage and schedule are subject to change at the discretion of the Club.
